Arise O' Compatriots, Nigeria beckons to us, We are the hope of this nation, We must salvage it from self destruction. We can't fold our hands, And act as if all is well, When we know our beloved nation, is sitting on a time bomb. Princes on foot, slaves on horses, We have become scavengers in our fatherland, Here we are an home-born slave, Tied in the tyranny of self colonization. We have refused to grow, We have refused to learn, We have long abandoned the real enemy, And wrestled ourselves to combat. We must gird for the future Seek to be reformed and informed Learning from history and aiming for liberty For when we so wish we would break loose. We cannot so take the future, So long we point accusing fingers at each other, Northerners accusing Southerners, Southerners faulting Northerners. If history has paired us together, so be it In unity, we must unmask and unseat the enemy In brotherhood, we will conquer and set Nigeria on its El Dorado...
